Sanmarco Industrial S.r.l. was established in 1962 in Lanciano, Abruzzo. Originally founded as San Marco S.p.A., the company specialized in the manufacture and assembly of truck tipper bodies. It subsequently diversified into road and rail safety products, establishing itself by the late 1970s as a leading manufacturer of buffers for railway wagons and coaches.
During the 1980s, driven by a forward-looking technology investment strategy and steady industrial growth, San Marco began exporting its products to Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East. In the 1990s, following company expansion and the opening of two new production sites, new manufacturing lines were established for Fiat Ducato and Iveco Daily platforms, alongside welding and outfitting lines for Iveco Defense military vehicles.
On April 1, 2017, San Marco was acquired by Scattolini S.p.A. (based in Valeggio sul Mincio), becoming Sanmarco Industrial S.r.l. Today, both companies are part of the Gruppo FAIST, within the Truck Bodies Business Unit.
Currently, Sanmarco Industrial is located in Val di Sangro, spanning an area of approximately 45,600 m² (including 12,150 m² of covered facilities) and employing 92 people. The company collaborates with key players in the automotive sector, specializing in the design, production, and assembly of fixed and tipping bodies, while also offering versatile solutions for fleets with specific outfitting requirements. Furthermore, thanks to its epoxy cataphoresis and powder coating facilities, the company is able to meet surface treatment needs across various industrial sectors.
Since 2022, Sanmarco Industrial has served as a supplier of mechanical cabinets for ABB E-mobility (San Giovanni Val D’Arno), a specialist in the design and production of EV charging stations. The industrialization of this new product has enabled the implementation of new processes and enriched our technological know-how. Furthermore, it has significantly increased the flexibility of our powder coating line, which is now capable of managing color changes, textures, and special finishes.
